INTRODUCTION TO THE HERO FUND TRUST AND ITS WORK

In 1908 the British Trust was established by the Scottish born philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. Its objectives are: to recognise civilian heroism in attempting to save human life in the United Kingdom, Eire, the Channel Islands, or in the surrounding territorial waters, by providing financial assistance where the heroic act has brought misfortune to the rescuer or the rescuer’s family
